We have kicked off a new contest for the Spring: whoever can guess the number of sugar bugs in our contest jar will win a 4-pack of movie passes with a concessions voucher!
When you come to our office, you can study the jar and try to figure out how many sugar bugs are in it. The closest guess without going over will win the movie passes.
The contest runs through June 20th. If there is a tie, then we will do a random drawing from the names that entered a winning guess.

What are sugar bugs? They are another term for plaque. Plaque is a thin, colorless, sticky film of bacteria that grows on everyone’s teeth.
When you forget to brush your teeth, plaque builds up into a gooey, white substance. Sometimes, you can actually see and feel plaque in your mouth: your teeth will feel sort of fuzzy.
How does plaque grow on your teeth? When the foods you eat combine with the bacteria that are already in your mouth, they stick to your teeth. The plaque on your teeth provides a home for more bacteria to produce damaging acids.
These damaging acids will attack the protective layers on your teeth, called enamel. If you don’t brush, the bacteria and acids will break down the enamel, and ruin your teeth!
When tooth enamel breaks down due to plaque and bacteria, it causes cavities (ouch!), permanent marks (yikes!), and stains on the teeth (ew!). That is why it is so important to brush your teeth and keep them clean. You don’t want to let sugar bugs hurt your teeth!
