We often get asked many different questions about clear aligners. To help save you time and prepare you for your initial consultation, here are some of the most common questions we receive about treatment with aligners.
Why Do So Many Patients Love Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners are a very popular treatment option because of the many benefits they offer. The clear plastic aligners are nearly invisible and have no food restrictions because they are meant to be removed each time you eat or drink.
Aligners are a straightforward treatment option. Since you get all of your trays on your second visit, you are in charge of changing them out, limiting your trips to our office. They are also more comfortable than most other treatment options.
Are Clear Aligners Right For Me?
Many people don’t fully understand how the aligner process works. Because of this, they think it won’t help them much or that it’s not a strong enough treatment plan for their needs.
Clear aligners are a powerful corrective treatment system that is comfortable, non-invasive, and convenient. They can fix most problems with spacing issues and bite or teeth misalignments. No matter how active your lifestyle is, aligners are an excellent option.
What Is The Difference Between Angel Clear Aligners And Invisalign?
At Reynolds & Stoner Orthodontics, we’re dedicated to offering our patients the best in orthodontic care, which includes providing a variety of clear aligner options. Among these are Angel Clear Aligners and Invisalign, both of which are designed to straighten teeth discreetly and efficiently. However, there are distinct features that make Angel Clear Aligners stand out.
Angel Clear Aligners are renowned for their exceptional level of customization. Each aligner is meticulously crafted to fit the unique contours of the patient’s teeth, providing a precision fit that can often result in a more comfortable treatment experience. Furthermore, this tailored approach allows for potentially shorter treatment times since the aligners are designed to work in harmony with the individual’s specific orthodontic requirements.
Another defining quality of Angel Clear Aligners is their aesthetic appeal. Patients value the clarity and near invisibility they provide, which is particularly appealing to adults and teens who might be self-conscious about undergoing orthodontic treatment. The aligners maintain their discreteness throughout the treatment, allowing patients to carry on with their daily lives without worrying about the appearance of their orthodontic gear.
In comparison, Invisalign has built a reputation over many years and boasts a wide array of product lines and features that cater to everything from minor adjustments to complex dental issues. However, Angel Clear Aligners set themselves apart with their individualized care, exceptional clarity, and cost-conscious pricing, making them a uniquely attractive choice for our patients at Reynolds & Stoner Orthodontics.
Choosing between Angel Clear Aligners and Invisalign is a personal decision that we at Reynolds & Stoner Orthodontics guide you through, ensuring that you select the clear aligner system that aligns best with your lifestyle, budget, and treatment goals.
How Often Do I Wear My Aligners?
You must wear each set of aligners for at least 20-22 hours daily. It is best if you only take them off when you have to brush your teeth or eat and drink.
How Long Does Treatment Last?
Once you come to your first appointment and we make a digital impression of your smile, the trays are ready to be made. Each tray changes your teeth in subtle ways, moving them to the desired placement throughout treatment.
Once your trays are ready, we help fit your first tray, talk about the process, and meet every few weeks to check on your treatment. Meanwhile, you change your trays every few weeks to correct your teeth in incremental ways.
Overall, treatment takes an average of 9-18 months but may take more or less time depending on the severity of your needs.
How Do I Keep My Aligners Clean?
Keeping your aligners clean is essential for proper oral hygiene and treatment. When you remove the aligners to brush your teeth, brush the aligners and rinse them with warm water. Cleaning the aligners will remove any buildup of bacteria or food particles in the trays.
What Happens After Treatment?
Once you make it through all of your aligners and are happy with your smile, you will wear a retainer full-time for a few months to keep your teeth where they are. Then, you can switch to only wearing your retainer at night while you sleep.
If you don’t wear your retainer, your teeth could return to their original position and undo all of the work you’ve put into your smile.
