Congratulations to Dr. Reynolds! He was awarded the Ormco Ingenuity Award at the recent meeting of the American Association of Orthodontists.
The award, presented by orthodontic supplier Ormco and national office of Smile for a Lifetime, recognizes Dr. Reynolds’ dedication to service in the local community. Specifically, he succeeded in gaining support and commitment from four dental professionals in the area to treat a high school student needing more than $50,000 worth of dental work. The patient received all services and materials at no cost to him, through our chapter of Smile for a Lifetime.
Through Smile for a Lifetime, we award orthodontic scholarships to local children in need of orthodontic treatment but without resources to pay. The mission of Smile for a Lifetime is to create self-confidence, inspire hope, and change the lives of children in our communities in a dramatic way. The gift of a smile can do all this for a deserving, underserved individual who, in turn, can use this gift to better themselves and their community. To date, the Guilford County chapter of Smile for a Lifetime has begun treatment on 17 patients and has provided more than $100,000 worth of care. The foundation awards 3 scholarships each quarter to qualified applicants from Guilford County. If you know of a student who could use some assistance, please encourage them to apply.
